Hartford is home to a number of Connecticut's largest Architecture firms. JCJ Architecture is a flagship tenant of the Colt building at 120 Huyshope Avenue in Hartford. The complex is home to Tecton Architects, moving to a bigger space from their previous Hartford home. The Colt building is also home to Maier Design Group. All three firms are major players in the Architecture field in the Northeast and the US. Renowned architect, Tai Soo Kim called Hartford home alongside their office in Boston. Crosskey Architects, Amenta Emma Architects, Infinity Group, Bostwick Architects, Lifecare Designs, and Joseph A. Bucheck AIA all call the Capitol City home. Many engineering firms are based in Hartford or have a presence in the city including Macchi Engineers, BL Companies, Freeman, Stantec, PVE, Torres Engineering, Urban Engineers, and others. Hartford has also seen some more firms move into the city. Hartford Architecture Partners Inc. (or HAPI for short) recently relocated their office from West Hartford into a space on Allyn Street. Fuss & O'Neill has relocated their headquarters from their historic home in Manchester to the Gold Building in Downtown Hartford. Last year PES Structural Engineers opened an office on Arch Street, part of the Front Street development. Construx Co recently relocated its headquarters back to Hartford from Farmington. The construction company can now be found at 10 Sequassen Street in Hartford. They are a General Contracting construction company, currently working on notable projects in the area including The Friendly Toast in West Hartford, IVX Health locations throughout CT, Elicit Brewing in Danbury, and many more. All these additions beg the question: Is Hartford becoming a hub for construction-related companies? We hope so. A new restaurant has opened in the Pawcatuck section of Stonington!
