Cat Cafes are the newest trend around the country. At least three new cat cafes are planned for Connecticut!
A cat cafe is a coffee shop with a separate lounge with cats. The lounge is usually stocked with cats available for adoption, patrons can grab a coffee and spend some time with cats. The space is great for animal therapy and to promote the adoption of abandoned cats. The food preparation spaces are completely separate from the cat space. -Marcie’s Angels Cat Cafe is coming soon to 3039 Main Street in Glastonbury. The cafe will be opening on August 15th. The cafe is partnered with Protectors of Animals, they will showcase cats from the organization for adoption. -Perk and Paws Cat Cafe is coming soon to 100 Franklin Street in Torrington! An opening date has not been set; but the stayed they hope to open in late August. The cafe officially took possession of their space earlier this month. -Enfield Community Cat Project is planning to open their own cat cafe in Enfield! The organization is a registered non-profit organization. They have not finalized a location for the cafe, but hope for a fall 2025 opening! These will join the 3 existing cat cafes in Connecticut including All the Single Kitties in Old Saybrook, Two Wrasslin' Cats Coffee House in East Haddam, and Mew Haven Cat Cafe in New Haven.
