Rein's Deli will be temporarily closing starting today and reopening on Saturday 3/2 after some renovations! The kitchen of the famed deli will receive new appliances, floors, and more. A much needed improvement to the alway-busy eatery! The famed deli is located at 435 Hartford Turnpike, inside The Shops at 30. The New York style deli has been a fixture of Vernon for over 50 years, and has been visited by many national celebrities.

Dollar General is NOW OPEN at 38 East Main Street in Rockville! The new store is slightly larger than typical Dollar General stores and features a brick exterior to better match with Downtown Rockville.
The new store replaces 2 vacant buildings once home to a bank and a pharmacy. The store shadows Courthouse Plaza, currently housing a pizza place, liquor store, consignment store, and the old Ladd & Hall store. This is Vernon Rockville's third Dollar General, with other locations on Talcottville Road near Aldi and on Hartford Turnpike near Vernon Pizza. 
Vernon's Annual "Summer Days" Carnival will not take place at Golf Land this year! The carnival has taken place at the site for many years.
The carnival will now take place at Rockville High School instead! The change could be connected to the planned reopening of Golf Land and other entertainment ventures on site. The new site has more parking and space for the carnival. The new Golf Land is supposed to be complete this summer. The newly built center will have go carts, a large arcade, bumper boats, batting cages, mini golf, and more. The ice cream stand has opened as Phase 1, and is currently closed for the season. Rocking Horse Smokehouse is also now open as part of the development. Look for the more information on this event this summer! The Fresh Monkee, LLC is coming soon to Vernon! The smoothie bar will be opening inside The Shoppes at Eastview, the plaza home to Planet Fitness and Great Harvest Bread Company - Vernon CT. The Fresh Monkee is a chain of smoothie shops based in Glastonbury. They currently have 6 locations including Glastonbury, Manchester, Mansfield, Southington, Wethersfield, and Berlin. The company has 3 other franchises coming soon in Arizona and 2 in Rhode Island. Owner of Dina’s Designs, Dina Blinn, is an independent hairstylist with over 30 years in the industry!
