Lots of changes coming to Southbury Green in Southbury, CT. A new clothing store and a sports medicine clinic are coming soon, while 3 restaurants owned by a single restaurateur have closed their doors amid a disagreeement with the landlord.
-J Crew Factory has signed a lease for the former Victoria Secrets space at the shopping plaza. The outlet version of the clothing store chain will occupy 5,587 square feet next door to Starbucks. This will be the fifth J Crew Factory location in Connecticut; they have existing locations in West Hartford, Clinton, Westbrook, and Danbury. -Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Centers will be opening a new office in the former Petland location in the plaza. The physical therapy clinic has a location across the street called PT for Life that is expected to close when the new location opens. The clinic will occupy 3,478 square feet. -Lucas Local Land & Sea Grille, Mission Salad, and Monty's Downtown have all closed their doors. Lucas Local restaurant opened in 2017 in Newtown before moving to Southbury Green in 2021, the restauarant was joined at the same time by their sister restaurants in the same development. The restaurants were owned by restaurateur Vincent Cappelletti. The closure came after a disagreement with landlord Regency Centers. The restaurant owner said he has no doubt he will reopen elsewhere in the future.
