116 Crown has announced their permanent closure after 17 years in business. The high-end cocktail lounge was located at 116 Crown Street in New Haven.
The owner said in a statement on their Facebook: "Dear Friends, Everything ends. That was it. We are so proud to end with an eye to change in our seventeenth year," the post read. "You are the reason it wasn’t impossible. You are the reason we went and went, instead of came and went. This restaurant was a labor of love, your love. A small coterie will never forget your unlimited support, love, (and let’s face it, a little bit of) tolerance. With heavy hearts to say 116 Crown has finished its fun. (In honesty, how could we all have had much more?)" the post continued. "We have been lucky to know almost all of you. And this is who that is for. A large hearted and insufficient Thank You. As always: there are surprises in store for this little piece of the world that you have made so special. Don’t miss it." No word yet on what might replace the restaurant at it's former location. 116 Lounge joins USS Chowder Pot III in announcing their closure.
