Rue21 has filed for bankruptcy and plans to close all their stores including their 2 CT locations in Milford and Waterford! Going out of business sales will start tomorrow.
Rue21 will close all 540 stores throughout the United States. The location inside Waterford’s struggling Crystal Mall and Milford’s Connecticut Post Mall will close their doors. Rue21 once had 7 stores in Connecticut including in Manchester, Westbrook, Meriden, Waterbury, and Trumbull before closing them in 2017 during their first bankruptcy. Milford and Waterford remained open during that bankruptcy. No buyers for the entire company have been found, the brand plans to close their locations and sell their intellectual property to operate online.
