HAMDEN SCOOP: Bob's Stores to close with 9 other locations!

Bob's Stores Footwear & Apparel and Eastern Mountain Sports has announced their plans to close 5 more store locations including Bob's Stores in Hamden!

GoMedia, the parent company of Bob's Stores and EMS released 5 more stores that will be shuttered as their latest push for survival. Bob's Stores is facing a significant financial problem, with a funding shortage, the stores are looking for alternate financing to keep the company afloat.

The Hamden, CT location of the closing store will close their doors, the store originally closed in 2020 but returned to the site in August 2023. The new location was closer to a Bob's Outlet store, featuring a more stripped down version of the retailer.

The closing stores include:
-Bob's Stores in Hamden, Connecticut. Reopened in August 2023
-EMS in Burlington, Massachusetts, Opened in September 2022
-EMS in Deptford, New Jersey, Opened in May 2023
-EMS in Freeport, Maine, Opened in Spring 2020
-EMS in Hyannis, Massachusetts

These join the 5 previously announced store closures including Bob's in Southington, CT that opened in November 2023, Bob's in Freehold, NJ, Bob's in Springfield/Watchung, NJ, Eastern Mountain Sports in Manchester, NH, and Eastern Mountain Sports in East Albany, NY.
