The land once home to Gerich's Service Center is up for sale again! The site was once primed for a new car wash from ModWash; though the Town of Manchester rejected the proposed building. The 1.2 acre property is on the market for $1.695 Million, and is represented by Colliers. The property was sold to the current owners in 2021 for $338,000; an environment clean up and site clearing was completed after the 2021 sale. Gerich's Service Center was located at 1082 Tolland Turnpike, in front of BJ's Warehouse Club. The building was demolished over the summer, with the environmental clean up beginning shortly after. The car wash's special exemption application was rejected by The Planning & Zoning Commission in November due to concerns with potential pollution to pollution, impairment, or destruction of the public trust in the air, water, or other natural resources.
