Fans of Eastern Mountain Sports soon won't have to travel far! Eastern Mountain Sports will be coming soon to The Shoppes at Buckland Hills. The store will be carved out of the Bob's Stores Footwear & Apparel space at the mall. EMS will be built inside the existing Bob's Stores. A new wall dividing the sister retailers will be constructed. Both stores will get an upgrade with new flooring, painting, and fixtures. The mall entrance will also receive an upgrade with new finishes and doors. Bob's Stores opened in late 2022 in the former Dick's Sporting Goods store. The store was opened hastily for the holiday season after Spriit Halloween moved out. A little over a year later, the store will get the long-promised makeover. Both stores will occupy only the top level of the former Dick's store. The current Bob's Stores sells a small selection of EMS merchandise. EMS and Bob's Stores have been on an expansion spree in recent years. The retailer has added EMS stores in Burlington VT, Deptford NJ, Burlington MA, and a few more. Bob's has added locations in Holyoke and Manchester, while relocating stores in Norwalk and Simsbury. The Shoppes at Buckland Hills has added a number of national tenants in the past year including Gong Cha Manchester CT, BoxLunch, Hungry Pot Korean BBQ & Hot Pot - Manchester CT, and SNIPES USA.
