Paris Baguette is planning multiple new locations in Connecticut!
The Frenh-inspired Korean bakery chain has new locations planned in Norwalk, Fairfield, and Cheshire! The bakery officially open their first CT location in West Hartford in December. -The new Norwalk bakery will be located at 500 Connecticut Avenue, part of the Darinor Plaza; home to Kohls and Old Navy. The bakery will occupy 3,300 square feet next to Five Below. -The new Fairfield bakery will be located at 1982 Black Rock Turnpike, part of the Fairway Plaza. The new bakery replaces the short-lived Bont Vet clinic in the plaza. The bakery will occupy 3,063 square feet next to CVS. -The new Cheshire location will be located at 1973 Highland Avenue, part of The Shops at Stone Bridge development! The bakery is under construction now, occupying roughly 3,450 square feet of space. Look for them to open this spring/summer! The drive-thru coffee chain is eyeing new CT locations in Waterbury, Middletown, and (as we reported yesterday) New Milford! These locations would join their existing locations in Vernon, Wallingford, Orange, and Bridgeport; with North Haven & New Haven opening soon. The Waterbury location would be located at 183 Chase Avenue, a vacant lot across from Waterbury Plaza (home to Stop & Shop.) This would be a new build with their signature pre-fabricated building. Plans are still subject to Planning & Zoning approvals. The Middletown location would be located at 733 Washington Street, a vacant lot across from Mozzicato's and Go Health Urgent Care. This would also be a new build with their signature pre-fabricated building. Plans are still subject to Planning & Zoning approvals. The New Milford location would be located at 169 Danbury Road, the former Webster Bank building at Litchfield Crossing. This would be a retrofit of the existing building, with another tenant occupying a portion of the building as well. Plans are still subject to Planning & Zoning approvals. All three new locations are eyeing a Fall 2026 opening! The franchisee behind all three new locations is the Parmar/Kapoor Family, owners of the Vernon, Wallingford, Orange, North Haven, and New Haven locations. The shop serves a number of beverages including 'The 7 Originals', coffee flavors like blondie, brunette, smooth 7, white chocolate mocha, cinnamon roll, german chocolate, and sweet & salty. The shop also features 7 Energy (an iced energy drink with numerous flavors), smoothies, milkshakes, teas, lemonades, 7 Fizz (sparkling water with any flavor), cold brew, and classic espresso and coffee drinks. A local bike shop has permanetly closed its doors in 2 CT towns.
Bikers Edge has permanently closed both of their locations in Torrington and Bristol. The shop has been open in those communities for decades, originally opening in 1972. The store offered sales and service on bicycles, as well as accessories. The shops promoted the preservation of nature trails through their appreciation parties for those who helped build and maintain trails in the area. FiiZ Drinks will open the doors of its first East Coast location at 782 Federal Road in Brookfield! The new franchise will open on March 7th with the ribbon cutting and grand opening. Your Drink. Construction is underway on the new Angel Land facility in West Hartford! The kid's entertainment center will be located at 1445 New Britain Avenue in Corbin's Corner. Hiring is now underway as well, apply at https://forms.gle/EJqZd66GbsUtyVp87 The new West Hartford facility will occupy over 19,000 square feet of space on the lower level. The space will be made up of climbing structures, obstacle courses, ball pits, slides, foam areas, and imagination play areas. The facility is aimed for children 10 and under. The space would also have a number of private party rooms for rent. "Our goal is to create a wholesome and engaging environment where children can enjoy physical activity, social interaction, and developmental play, regardless of weather conditions," the application stated. "The space will be designed with age-appropriate play structures, party rooms, and interactive play areas, adhering to the highest standards of safety, accessibility, and cleanliness." Angel Land currently has a single US location at Stamford Town Center in Stamford; along with two called FlyO'Land in British Columbia. The Stamford location charges $14.95 an hours or $19.95 a day for weekdays; and $16.95 an hour or $22.95 a day for weekends. Up to 2 adults can accompany each child at no extra cost. Fat Duck Tavern is coming soon to Blue Back Square in West Hartford! The restaurant will open in late spring/early summer at 63 Memorial Road, the former Vinted Wine Bar space. The tavern features elevated American Comfort food with global influences in a relaxed yet stylish atmosphere. The restaurant has maintained a focus on only using high quality and ethically-sourced ingredients for their scratch-made dishes. The tavern serves lunch & dinner; including options like seafood, salads, burgers, steaks, and more. Eddie Bauer has started store closing sales at their two remaining Connecticut locations in Westbrook & Mashantucket.
The outdoorwear chain’s store operator filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing and is closing all 200 of their remaining retail stores. Eddie Bauer will continue to operate their website. Eddie Bauer is now liquidating their 2 CT outlet stores in: -Westbrook, 314 Flat Rock Place at Westbrook Outlets -Foxwoods, 455 Trolley Line Boulevard at Tanger Outlets Store closing sales are both stores are now underway with most items now 40-60% off typical pricing. Stores are expected to close on or before April 30th. The retail store operations are owned by Catalyst Brands; while Authentic Brands Group owns the brand’s name and intellectual property. A new operator, Outdoor 5, is taking over operations of the online sales under a new licensing agreement. The chain previously operated full-line stores in South Windsor (closed earlier this month), Danbury (closed last year), Manchester (closed in 2005), and in Meriden (closed in 2004.) Neil's Donuts is eyeing a new location in Wethersfield!
A Pre-Application has been submitted to potentially add a drive thru for a new location of Neil's Donut at the former Rite Aid building at 657 Silas Deane Highway in Wethersfield. This would be the third location for the donut shop. According to the narrative, Neil's Donuts has entered into a 'Letter of Intent' for a new location on the right side of the former Rite Aid building. If plans move forward, the shop would occupy 4,000 square feet with a drive thru added according to application materials. Plans are still preliminary and the pre-application will be heard at tomorrow's (02/18) Planning & Zoning Commission hearing. A new restaurant will open late this fall in the former Crush Wine Bar space at 37 LaSalle Road in West Hartford! Demolition work recently started on the space. The restaurant is being developed by the team behind Sparrow Pizza Bar in West Hartford and Tacobarn in Newtown. Both restaurant are well regarded for their food and drink offers. Owner David Boyajian confirmed plans for the restaurant with plans to open in late fall 2026. The name and concept of the restaurant will be revealed later this year according to Boyajian. Bridge Street Breakfast & Lunch is coming to 1610 Saybrook Road in Haddam, the old Cooking Company location! The eatery is planned to open in April! The new restaurant will be the sister eatery to Higganum’s Jacks Country Restaurant. Construction is now underway with plans to open in April according to the announcement on social media. The donut shop will close their doors on February 18th after 3 years at 159 Albany Turnpike in Canton. Luke's location in Avon will remain open. Owner of Luke's Donuts Fidel Masad has stated that he is looking for a new location in Canton after issues with the landlord caused the closure. According to a new lease plan released by Blackline Retail Group, LLC, the new discount clothing store will open at Hamden Mart later this year. Ross Dress for Less will occupy the former Joann Fabric space at 2300 Dixwell Avenue in Hamden, over 25,000 square feet of space. This will be Ross' second CT location after opening their first in Trumbull last year. We are hearing more locations could be on the way! Hamden Mart will be a flurry of construction. Walmart will greatly expand their store in the plaza, taking over the former Bob's Stores space along with other vacant space; creating a new supercenter similar to other Walmart stores. Benny and Moes Grooming Salon is coming soon to Granby. The new dog salon will be located at 2 Park Place in Granby, next door to Grassroots Ice Cream. The business will be owned by Emily Miller and Madison Graham. Both owners are transitioning from the stressful corporate world into small business ownership with a small dog salon in a quaint town. The new Mexican restaurant has opened its doors at 54 West Main Street in Plainville, the former Don Bigote Mexican Restaurant space. Senor Pancho's celebrated their grand opening on 02/11. The bank is potentially eyeing a new branch at 730 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury, the site was formerly home to an office building that caught fire in late 2024. A Pre-Application Review took place at the January 21st Zoning Commission meeting. Under the plans a new 3,432 square foot building would be constructed on the site for Chase Bank. The review was non-binding. If/when the project is ready to move forward, plans will need to come back before the commission for formal approval. The building formerly located at 730 Hopmeadow Street caught fire on December 11th, displacing nearly a dozen businesses and destroying the building. Stay tuned for any updates to this project. A new large format AutoZone store is coming to Milford!
AutoZone is planning to open a new large format auto parts store at 98 Turnpike Square, in the Turnpike Square shopping center. The new store will occupy over 27,000 square feet of space, nearly three times the size of a typical AutoZone. The space was previously home to Golden Corral/Champions Sports Bar, Pier 1 Imports/Hazelton’s Gourmet, and the space currently home to Sally Beauty Supply. Large format AutoZone stores has sometimes referred to as ‘Hub’ stores, used for online order fulfillment. No opening timeline has been announced for the new store. Bobby’s Burger Palace closed their doors on February 9th as work gets underway on its transformation into Bobby’s Burgers by Bobby Flay, a new high-quality burger experience. The restaurant is located at the Winter Entrance next to Frank Pepe’s. The restauarant is expected to open this spring. Guests will see improvements like new branding, revamped seating, enhanced design elements, and an all-new counter service model. Frisbie's will open in the former Kilwin's space at 38 Isham Road in West Hartford with plans to open this spring. The local chain will be opening another new location right over the border in Sturbridge, MA! The ice cream shop will open inside the Noble Gas Station at 195 Charlton Road, replacing Yo!Boca!Taco! in the travel center. The shop serves nearly 2 dozen different ice cream flavors! Options include sundaes, cups, cones, ice cream flights (6 flavors), samplers (4 flavors), and much more! Frisbie's also offers an ice cream making experience at their New Britain and North Attleboro locations.
