The remaining restaurants, which have been closed since their tax certificates/permits we revoked, have now been issued evictions for their spaces in Downtown Hartford and New Haven. This follows the auction of their equipment from their shuttered West Hartford location just weeks ago. TP2B's Hartford landlord, 5CP Master Tenant LLC, received an 'Execution for Possession' from the court on 04/29 for the restaurant's space at 5 Constitution Plaza in Downtown Hartford. The landlord is now hoping to attract a new restaurant operator for the space. TP2B's New Haven landlord, Old Engine House No.3 Company LLC, has received an 'Execution for Possession' from the court on 04/17 for the restaurant's space at 338 Elm Street in New Haven. The restaurant has until 05/08 until its contents are considered forfeited. The Place 2 Be was featured in Forbes magazine in 2023 touting a $100 million dollar valuation. The article also announced new concepts that never came to fruition including Cantina and Graze in Downtown Hartford. The restaurant group once had 4 locations of their flagship TP2B brand including in West Hartford, Downtown Hartford, Franklin Avenue in Hartford, Springfield MA, and a fifth planned for Dallas. The brand had spin-off concepts including The Bakery by TP2B and Raw*, both of which were evicted from their locations last year. Other new concepts were planned (and now cancelled) including Charred Pizza in Hartford and Pita (a Mediterranean eatery) in Glastonbury. To date, there are court judgements against TP2B's LLC totaling over $3 million. What would you like to see open in these locations next? Comment below!
