Just weeks after Gina Luari's Raw in Hartford and The Bakery by TP2B in West Hartford were officially evicted from their locations, her Hartford bakery is in trouble.
Marconi Enterprises, the landlord of TP2B's Franklin Avenue bakery, secured an eviction order against the bakery according to the court's docket. The order was issued on October 25th, though a successfully executed eviction has not been returned by a State Marshal. The court case started in December of 2024 stemming allegedly from unpaid rent by the bakery. Astipulated agreement was executed earlier this year, but The Bakery by TP2B allegedly missed their rental payment for October according to the court docket. The bakery is located at 615 Franklin Avenue in Hartford. The site was home to the first The Place To Be, a business Luari purchased in 2015 and rebranded with her Instagram-able and over-the-top themeing. This is just the latest in legal troubles for the brand. The West Hartford location of The Place 2 Be will close in Spring 2026 according to a stipulated agreement with Blue Back Square. Raw in Hartford recently permanently closed after being evicted by their landlord, Grunberg 280 Trumbull. The Bakery by TP2B was evicted from Blue Back Square before they opened their doors, after years of construction and court battles. The Place 2 Be's Springfield location was evicted from their location at The Basketball Hall of Fame last year. The brand's planned expansion into Texas also hit a road block when their landlord got a judgement of over $1 million against the restaurant. The restaurant's Downtown Hartford landlord was in the process of evicting the restaurant, though a last minute Stipulated Agreement halted the execution of the eviction according to the court docket.

Trattoria Dal Forno opened a new Italian eatery this summer at 1995 Whitney Avenue in North Haven, the former Kala space. The eatery serves Italian cuisine and other seafood & meat options.
The restaurant is owned by Tunde Lengyel according to business filings with the State and the restaurant's liquor license. According to records, the holding company of Trattoria Dal Forno is Whitney Foods LLC with a principal of Tunde Lengyel. Lengyel is the wife of Barna Lengyel. Barna Lengtel is not listed on the business records for Trattoria Dal Forno, nor is the extent of his involvement in the restaurant known. Barna Lengyel, aka Bruno Banani, has been accused of wrong-doing at his previous restaurant in Guilford called Amarone Restaurant. Charges were filed last year include Possession of Child Porn, Voyerism, E-stalking, Risk of Injury to a Child, and other. The charges have not gone to trial as of this posting. During the investigation last year police found child pornography and an intimate photo of his employee (taken without her knowledge) at his restaurant. Read about his charges here: https://www.nhregister.com/news/article/guilford-child-porn-barna-lengyel-bruno-banani-18698931.php Tunde Lengyel and Barna Lengyel are listed as the principal of Amarone Restaurant's LLC. The restaurant closed last year after the charges were announced. The space will soon be home to Char & Lemon; an Oxford-based pizza shop. A post of a local Facebook group announced the owner of the restaurant was Michael Marchetti, but I have found no connection between Marchetti and this restaurant. He owns 3 other restaurants in Connecticut. The Connecticut Scoop reached out to Tunde Lengyel for comment and questions regarding her husband's involvement. A response was not received. |
