Niantic Bay Bicycles will be permanently closing their bike shop at the beginning of March.
The bike shop is located at 8 Methodist Street in Niantic; operating there for over 20 years. The shop will permanently close on March 1st according to the announcement. The shop will continue to offer repairs, tune-ups, and sales until their closing date. The owner plans to travel and explore the world once the shop closes. The statement from the business reads: "Hello all I have news. We will be closing the shop. The plan is to close March 1st. It’s been a hard few years trying to stay open. This now is giving me the opportunity to follow a longtime dream of mine to travel/explore Van Life, camp, hike, bike around our country and hopefully around the world. We are open ready for repairs and tune ups !!! The floor is stocked well with some NEW bikes and LOTS of used bikes!!! Andy and I have been working very hard getting things cleaned up and ready to go!! Please continue to support us and send us out with a big bang!! Much is priced at affordable prices and everything must go!! Because of YOU the shop and ANDY and SHAWN I’ve been able to travel and bike at so many beautiful places and I’m hooked!!! I thank you for always supporting us and being our friends. It’s been a GREAT RUN!!! Please like my personal Facebook page Kim Evans and continue to stay contacted with me. I’d love to show you my travels and perhaps our paths will crossed again someday!! Stop by the shop !! Hugs are in order!!!"
