I checked out the new Market Place Kitchen & Bar location in Newington and it was amazing! The restaurant opened their doors last week, bringing luxury dining to Newington. Market Place Kitchen & Bar is located at 3331 Berlin Turnpike in Newington, part of the new Meadow Commons development. The menu has a bit of everything on their menu including American favorites, seafood, steaks, pasta dishes, and much more; all featuring locally sourced organic ingredients. The menu also features handcrafted cocktails, a curated selection of wine, and local beer. For starters we tried the Crispy Sushi and the Blackened Chicken Nachos. Both were amazing, with a complex flavor profile. Entrees included the Pan Roasted Halibut (NE clam chowder, spinach, pickled fennel), a Prime NY Strip steak (mashed potato, roasted ‘seacoast’ mushrooms & onions, sauce Diane), and a Short Rib Grilled Cheese. All were delicious with a large portion size on the main and sides. The restaurant features a beautifully appointed interior with plants strung about, suspended lanterns, and wood grains; creating a welcoming atmosphere. There are large garage doors opening the interior to a large outdoor patio for those warm summer nights. Don't forget to check out the classic truck parked in front of the restaurant.
