Bess Eaton will be closing their only remaining Connecticut location at the end of business this Saturday, 04/18.
The donut shop is located at 1 Coggswell Street in Pawcatuck. The location opened its doors in 2011, replacing a Tim Horton's cafe at the site. Signs notifying customers of the closure have been posted at the restaurant. The signs read: "I first want to start off by thanking each and every one of our wonderful, loyal customers for continuing to visit our store each and every day; you all have made it possible to come this far with the continued patronage through every single bit of the roller coaster ride this store has been. It saddens me to say this, but unfortunately Saturday, April 18th will be our last day, and we will be closing our doors that evening for good. It has been so much more to some than just a customer/barista relationship and you all have been appreciated through every aspect over the last 15 years we have stood in this spot. It goes without saying how much we all appreciated the continued support up until the very end. From everyone here, we thank you and hope we have made the experience that is Bess Eaton wonderful for you." The shop sold coffee, donuts, pastries, baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, and much more. Freshly prepared with a side of nostalgia for longtime customers. The closure leaves Bess Eaton with a single remaining location in Westerly Rhode Island. The donut shop was previously a large chain, operating over 50 locations throughout Southern New England before closing in 2004 when locations were converted into Tim Horton's. The brand was reborn in 2011 when Tim Horton's pulled out of the region. Do you remember Bess Eaton? Where was your local location? Comment below!
