A new garden-themed pop-up bar is coming to Mohegan Sun this spring!
The Secret Garden Bar at Mohegan Sun is coming soon to Sky Tower lobby! The new bar and lounge will be a limited‑time spring pop‑up designed for lingering nights and unexpected moments. This hidden escape invites you to slow down, sip, and step into a world where spring is always in full bloom. Sarku Japan is starting construction on their new Groton location!
The Japanese restaurant will open a new location at 220 Route 12 in Groton. The restaurant would be located in the former Moe's space at Groton Square Shopping Center. Sarku Japan features made-to-order Japanese cuisine including Teriyaki entrees, sushi, bento boxes, appetizers, and much more. No opening date has been announced for their opening in Groton. This is separate from the eatery still located at Crystal Mall. The chain restaurant previously operated a location in the food court of Crystal Mall in Waterford, but it is now independently operated as Sakura Japan. Sakura Japan has not announced their future plans. Stay tuned for more information on their opening! The Bedford by Martha Stewart opens this week at Foxwoods Resort Casino!
The new restaurant will officially open their doors on Saturday March 14th with a ribbon cutting ceremony on March 13th. The new restaurant is located on the restaurant level of the Grand Pequor Lobby, taking over the former Caputo Trattoria space. The new restaurant is inspired by Martha Stewart's 1925 home in Bedford, New York. The menu features Stewart's personal favorites including her Kurobuta Pork Chop, Niçoise Salad, and her Big Martha Pierogies. Guests will also enjoy signature cocktails like the Martha-tini and frozen pomegranate Martha-rita, all crafted with locally sourced ingredients to deliver an unforgettable culinary experience. Harry's Place opens for the season on Saturday March 7th! They are located at 104 Broadway Street in Colchester. The 106 year old restaurant has become a tradition for people in the area, it's not spring until Harry's has opened! The restaurant opened early this year, they opened in late-February for the first time in the restaurant's history. The restaurant opened in 1920 by Harry Schmuckler in the Crestwood Plaza in Colchester. The restaurant relocated in the late 1920s; and again in the 1940s. Under plans submitted to the Design Review Board and Planning & Zoning, the restaurant supply warehouse would construct a new store at 161 Waterford Parkway North. The site is currently a vacant lot between Walmart and Lowes. Under the plans a new one-story 45,447 square foot building would be built on the site for the retailer. Plans are still subject to Planning & Zoning approvals. Restaurant Depot is a members-only wholesale foodservice supplier offering food, equipment, supplies, and more to restaurant owners and other local business. Products include fresh produce, meat, dairy, frozen foods, drinks, and restaurant equipment. Membership is free for businesses, but you must have a valid business license to join the club. If approved, this would be the chain's fourth Connecticut location behind existing locations in Waterbury, Orange, and Hartford. -Enzo Menswear will be temporarily moving to Tanger Outlets Foxwoods while they look for a new permanent location in the area. The store sells suits and menswear. -Froyo World will be relocating their dessert shop to Trumbull Mall in Trumbull. The froyo shop recently signed a lease for a space near the Trumbull Mall's food court. -East Side Games will be moving in with Sarge's Comics and Games at 124 State Street in New London. Their last day in the mall was Sunday, 03/01. -Hot Topic will be permanently closing their location on March 22nd with no plans to reopen in the immediate area. The chain has CT locations in Manchester, Farmington, Milford, Norwalk, Danbury, and Trumbull. -Kay Jewelers will be relocating their store to Waterford Commons, opening in the former Music & Arts Center space in the plaza. Look for them to open in the new location this year. -Toy Vault at Crystal Mall will be moving to a new location though the exact address/space has not been formally announced. Stay tuned for more announcements on their social media page. -Lenscrafters will be moving to 351 N Frontage Road in New London. The eyecare office will move into the former America's Best Eyeglasses space in the plaza. Look for them to open in the new location this year. -Mr.Fix It will be relocating to 310 Flanders Road in East Lyme, joining their other location in Groton. Stop in for your cell phone repair needs. -Victoria's Secret has closed their location and will not be reopening in the immediate area. The chain has CT locations in Manchester, Farmington, Danbury, Milford, Trumbull, Norwalk, -Spencer's Gifts has closed their location and will not be reopening in the immediate area. The store redirects customers to their location in Providence or online. They have CT locations in Manchester, Milford, Trumbull, and Danbury. -Memories Ink has relocated to 223 Bank Street in New London. The tattoo studio also has a location at Tanger Outlets Foxwoods. -Buffalo Wild Wings will be staying for the time being from the scuttlebutt we have heard, possibly staying in place during some of EB's construction. Corporate has not confirmed plans for a new site, though staff has said they were look at possible sites nearby. -LongHorn & Olive Garden will remain open in their current locations with no plans for relocation or closure. They are unaffected by construction for EB. A number of tenants are still looking for new locations in the area including Men's Wearhouse and This N That. We do not have updates yet for Sakura Japan, Special Occassions, Finish Line, Instyle Frangrances, Banter, Dream Riders, or H&R Block. Diamond Sports Academy of CT is coming to Westbrook Outlets! The new sports academy will offer training for softball and baseball players. Look for them to offer both group and one-on-one training sessions. Construction is underway in Suite C120, across from Old Tyme Toys. Owned by Veteran Baseball/Softball Coach Matthew M. Reed. An athletic leader with a proven record of building winning programs from youth to professional levels. The cantina reopened their doors on Wednesday under new management and new extended hours. Pica Chica Tacos is located at 68 West Main Street in Clinton. The restaurant is now owned by Branford resident Gerardo Salazar according to business filings. Pica Chica Tacos opened in 2021 under the ownership of Mari Lee. Mari Lee announced the sale on her personal Facebook page on February 17th. The new owners will continue to operate under the Pica Chica brand!
