The new 7 Brew Coffee shop have their building dropped on-site this Friday, September 12th! They are looking for community businesses to giveaway beverages and have started hiring for the new location!
The growing chain of coffee shops will have their new 530 square foot prefabricated coffee shop dropped in place at 927 Riverdale Street in West Springfield, in front of Raymour & Flanigan. The chain utilizes pre-built structures to help speed up construction. Buildings come in 3-4 pieces typically and are lowered into place by a chain in a matter of hours. It is definitely a sight to be seen, a flying coffee shop. The building drop is expected to start at 8am. The new coffee shop is expected to open in November 2025, creating 65 jobs in the local community. They recently started hiring for the new location and will begin holding interviews over the next two weeks. The coffee shops are pre-fabricated building with a unique shape that draws customers in. The iconic structure features neon blue around the roof of the building. The shop serves a number of beverages including 'The 7 Originals', coffee flavors like blondie, brunette, smooth 7, white chocolate mocha, cinnamon roll, german chocolate, and sweet & salty. The shop also features 7 Energy (an iced energy drink with numerous flavors), smoothies, milkshakes, teas, lemonades, 7 Fizz (sparkling water with any flavor), cold brew, and classic espresso and coffee drinks.

Fancy Bagels is NOW OPEN in Agawam!
The new bagels shop has opened at Southgate Shopping Plaza at 838 Suffield Street in Agawam! The eatery is located next door to Geissler's, the former Agawam Medical Supply space. The menu includes dozens of varieties of bagels, breakfast sandwiches, lox, lunch sandwiches, soups, and much more. Drinks include coffee, teas, frozen coffees, hot chocolate, soda, juices, and others. The shop also carries gluten free bread and bagels for customers with those restrictions! Plan B will be closing 3 of their 6 locations including their location at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield!
The burger chain will close the three locations by August 31st according to a statement from the restaurant group. The locations include: -Hartford at 35 Front Street, part of the Front Street District -West Hartford at 138 Park Street -Springfield at 1000 W Columbus Avenue, in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame The chain's Connecticut locations in Simsbury, Glastonbury, and Milford will remain open, serving Plan B's signature high-quality burgers, bourbon, and American craft beer. All affected staff members will receive severance pay. Some employees will be offered roles at the chain's other locations. All gift cards will be honored at remaining locations. Plan B is owned by Locals 8 Hospitality. They own other concepts including Butchers & Bakers in Farmington CT, The Diamond in Glastonbury CT, and Famous 4th Street Delicatessen in Philadelphia PA. 
Claire's has a buyer!
The chain of piercing and accessories shops will be sold to private equity firm Ames Watson. The chain has over 1,200 stores across the US, with plans to move forward with up to 950 locations. The sale is still subject to bankruptcy court approval. The planned sale comes as liquidation sales are being halted at most Claire's stores. Store closing signs were added to Claire's store last week, but were subsequently removed in previous days. Ames Watson is a private equity firm specializing in turning around struggling retailers. The firm's portfolio currently includes Lids, LidsU, Champion Teamwear, Fanatics, and others. Under the deal, Ames Watson will pay $104 million with a $36 million seller's note for the assets. Store closing sales continue at over 150 stores. Icing appears to be completely liquidating. Icing is Claire's sister store, their website states store closing sales are underway at all Icing stores. New tenants are coming soon to the Holyoke Mall at Ingleside! Joining the line-up includes new restaurants, s new clothing store, and a seasonal Halloween shop! -Urban Planet is coming soon to the mall's second floor! The clothing store will occupy the former Forever 21 space in the mall. Urban Planet is owned by YM, INC; parent company of Charlotte Russe and the newly reformed Rue21. Look for them to open late summer/fall. -Frozen D Lite is coming soon to the mall's first level! The frozen yogurt, smoothies, shakes, acai bowls, fresh juices, and more! They will be located next door to Mystery Bins below Target. -Mama G's Halal Kitchen will be opening this fall on the mall's second level! The new eatery will open in the former Latino's Cuisine space near JC Penney. The restaurant will serve rice plates, chicken shawarma, gyros, Philly cheese steak, and other quick bites. Mama G's currently has a location in NY at The Mall at Bay Plaza. -Spirit Halloween will be opening very soon in the former Burlington store on the mall's food court level! The store is currently being set up with temporary signage recently installed. -Another recent addition is the Human Claw Machine. The machine lets you become the claw! Get lowered into place and grab your prize. Find it on the first floor near Altitude Trampoline Park. -Not really a new addition but the exterior of the mall is receiving some much needed attention! The exterior of the mall is currently being painted white and the parking lots & sidewalks are being redone! Please be cautious of on-going construction as the areas are being milled and new pavement added. These new additions will be joined by the previously report Pickleball Kingdom, Ozzy Barber Shop, and Uncle Cho's Fish & Chips. Other newly opened additions include the new JD Sports, Milan Menswear, Mystery Bins, Fun On Target Airsoft, Perfume Gallery, and Anugraha (relocated). 
Claire's and Icing will start the liquidation of all their stores! The mall mainstays announced their pending liquidation on their website with their 'One Last Sparkle' sale.
Both stores offer piercings and sell accessories, jewelry, and beauty items. Liquidation of the chain's fleet of stores have commenced. Claire's has numerous locations at malls throughout Massachusetts. Two new tenants were recently announced to be joining The Loop in Methuen!
Nothing Bundt Cakes is coming soon to the plaza! The bakery chain will occupy 1,349 square feet of space between Chipotle and T-Mobile. The new restaurant is expected to open in early 2025. The property was represented by Charter Realty and the tenant was represented by Atlantic Retail Partners. El Potro Mexican Bar and Grill is coming soon to The Loop! The restaurant has leased 7,630 SF, taking over the former Margaritas space. This marks the fifth location for the growing regional concept. They are expected to open their doors in late 2025. The Loop is the redevelopment of the former Methuen Mall. The property has seen increased leasing activity in the last year, redeveloping the former Stop & Shop into multiple tenant spaces. Tropical Smoothie Cafe is NOW OPEN in West Springfield! The new smoothie shop is now open at 367 Memorial Avenue in West Springfield. The shop occupies 2,223 square feet next to Woodcraft in the Century Center. The restaurant opened their doors earlier this week. The eatery will host a grand opening weekend! Eleveno is bringing an upscale pickleball facility to Patriot Place in Foxborough. The new facility will be located at 340 Patriot Place, the former Christmas Tree Shops space. The facility is expected to open this fall, bringing 9 new courts to the 40,000 square foot space. The court will srround a new center court cafe and bar. The facility will offer full service kitchen and quick-service options. Other amentities include a private event space, Pro Shop, and a 17,000 square foot outdoor facility with more pickleball courts. Two Massachusetts At Home store are planned to close in the retailer's bankruptcy. According to a post from 'Furniture Today' (an industry news outlets) At Home stores in Shrewsbury and Dedham will close alongside 24 others locations across the country.
The Shrewsbury store is located at 571 Boston Turnpike. The store opened in 2022 replacing Pier One Imports, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Bob's Stores. The Dedham store is located at 300 Providence Highway. The store opened in 2019, replacing a Sears store at the Legacy Place Mall. The chain filed for bankruptcy this morning, after weeks of speculation of their plans to file. No closing sale information has been announced yet for any location. The chain will still operate 2 Mass locations in Peabody and Seekonk. |
