The leases of 9 Party City stores in Massachusetts were recently put up for auction. Stores in Shrewsbury, Burlington, Attleboro, Bellingham, Chelmsford, Quincy, East Walpole, Millbury, and Seekonk were auctioned to the highest bidder last week according to the court docket. Successful bidders were recently released (but are still subject to court approval), here is who is planned to move in. -Dollar Tree has been listed as the successful bidder for the Party City store at 120 Walter J. Hannon Parkway in Quincy. The store occupies 16,412 square feet of space. -Dollar Tree has been listed as the successful bidder for the Party City store at 100 Boston Turnpike in Shrewsbury. The store is located at the White City Shopping Center and occupies 10,219 square feet of space. -Burlington Crossroads (Landlord) has been listed as the successful bidder for the Party City store at 34 Cambridge Street in Burlington. The store is located at the Burlington Crossroads and occupied 9,914 square feet of space. -Dollar Tree has been listed as the successful bidder for the Party City store at 1140 Newport Avenue in Attleboro. The store is located at the RK Bristol Place and occupies 15,000 square feet of space. -Dollar Tree has been listed as the successful bidder for the Party City store at 209 Hartford Avenue in Bellingham. The store is located at the Crossroads Shopping Center. -Dollar Tree has been listed as the successful bidder for the Party City store at 288 Chelmsford Street in Chelmsford. The store is located at the Eastgate Plaza. -Dollar Tree has been listed as the successful bidder for the Party City store at 30 Providence Highway in East Walpole. The store is located at the Walpole Mall and occupies 11,441 square feet of space. -Dollar Tree has been listed as the successful bidder for the Party City store at 70 Worcester Providence Turnpike in Millbury. The store is located at The Shops at Blackstone. -Five Below has been listed as the successful bidder for the Party City store at 231 Highland Avenue in Seekonk. The store is located at King Phillip's Crossings and occupies 12,224 square feet of space. Dollar Tree was the biggest winner at the auction, winning nearly 150 locations. Five Below was the second biggest winner at the auction, winning over 40 locations. Other winners including Barnes & Noble, Rack Room Shoes, La Z Boy, Burlington Coat Factory, Books-A-Million, and others. Party City's intellectual property and wholesale operations are to be sold to New Amscan, a distributor and manufacturer. New Amscan is the manufacturer of balloons, costumes, and other party products. The sale is still subject to court approval; and a back-up bid from Michaels was received.
