Sturbridge Coffee House has expanded to a second location inside the Noble Gas Station in Sturbridge! The coffee house is in their soft opening period before their grand opening!
Mini Sturbridge Coffee House has opened at 195 Charlton Road in Sturbridge, inside the Noble Gas Station. The coffee shop features an indoor counter as well as a drive thru! The coffee shop replaces Fuel America that recently closed inside the gas station. The restaurant will feature bagels, muffin tops, egg bites, acai bowls, grab-and-go and more. They will also be serving the same handcrafted drink menu as their main location including coffees, lattes, teas, smoothies, boba, and their new April drink specials The new shop is open daily from 6am-3pm with plans to extend the hours to 6am-6pm next month. Sturbridge Coffee House has an existing location at 407 Main Street in Sturbridge.

The Fresh Monkee has officially opened their newest location in Worcester, Massachusetts! The new smoothie shop is located at 68 Stafford Street in Worcester; at the Webster Square Plaza!
The Fresh Monkee is not one of those MLM Nutrition Shake shops. They make their drinks with fresh ingredients prepared in front of you! They serve fresh fruit smoothies, protein shakes, green shakes, and Monkee Ballz (protein snack.) The shop got their start in a small 600 square foot space in Wethersfield, CT in 2014; and has grown into a chain of 14 locations and many more on the way! The Ground Round has set their grand opening date for their new Shrewsbury location! The restaurant will officially open on April 30th according to a post on their social media. The restaurant is located at 271 Grafton Street in Shrewsbury; the former Bauhinia restaurant. Grand opening is scheduled for April 30th. Food, drinks, fun, live music, entertainment, vendors & media. Join them for the great comeback opening night! The new Shrewsbury location marks a return of the brand to Massachusetts and the region, The Ground Round previously operated a location at 225 Boston Turnpike in Shrewsbury that closed in 2004. The chain has four franchised locations in Ohio and three in North Dakota. The restaurant serves casual American cuisine including (but not limited too) burgers, steak, chicken, Tex-Mex options, salads, pastas, and more. The restaurant will serve lunch and dinner. The owners of the Shrewsbury location, Joe and Nachi Shea, are the owners of the brand; with the other locations in Ohio and North Dakota as franchisees. Los Supreme, a Latin cuisine restaurant, has closed their doors in Springfield.
The eatery announced the closure on their Facebook page on April 1st. They were located at 11 Dorset Street in Springfield, Mass. The eatery was originally located on Dickinson Street in Springfield before moving to the Holyoke Mall in March 2024. Los Supreme moved to a new location in the mall before moving back to Springfield in late fall of 2024. The owner's said in a statement: 'First and foremost I would like to take this time to express my appreciation and gratitude to all my customers from day 1 till this day Without you guys this wouldn’t be possible. As I’m writing this my heart feels super heavy because I’ve gained such a great clientele and customers who have became family. Los supreme will no longer be open, we tried to go against all odds and keep the good fight but not everyone is aware of how costly it is to support a business and its expenses and be able to adapt to the inflation without hurting no one’s pocket but I have taken a big loss to mine. We are not a franchise we are Normal people from the city trying to succeed. I won’t say I failed because failure is not in my vocabulary. The restaurant was located at 6 Plaza Way in Plymouth, Mass. The pizza shop has been closing locations recently, with their locations in Holliston, North Shore, Canton, and more. Bertucci's now has a total of 20 locations throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut, Delaware, Rhode Island, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. They have 13 locations remaining in Massachusetts. A new concept from Bertucci's is opening a new spin-off brand. Pronto by Bertucci's is coming this spring at Government Center in Downtown Boston. Could this be a fresh start for the ailing brand? We will see. Aldi has purchased the lease of the former Big Lots store at 126 Boston Street in Lynn. One of the countries leading discount grocery stores, Aldi has 22 locations across the State. The lease sale, which is still subject to court approval, would see Aldi take possession of the space for a new store. The space is located at 126 Boston Street and occupies close to 30,000 square feet of space. The store was part of a package of 9 stores across the US bought by Aldi during the bankruptcy of Big Lots. No timeline has been announced for the opening of the Aldi store in Lynn. Those plans were officially confirmed earlier this week!
“Really, it’s one of the biggest, if not the biggest project in the city of Springfield since MGM,” according to Representative Angelo Puppolo Target will occupy a new 148,000+/- square foot space! This would be Target's first Springfield location. The next closest location is in Holyoke at the mall. Target has been long-speculated as a tenant for the redeveloped mall site. The chain currently has 45 locations throughout Massachusetts. BJ's Wholesale Club will occupy a new 106,000 +/- square foot space, this was formerly depicted as another strip of junior anchor spaces. The club will feature the typical gas station that accompanies most of their stores. The gas station will be located closer to Boston Road. The wholesale club has an existing location in Chicopee. The development is planned to begin welcoming shoppers this fall. It will also be home to Hobby Lobby, Skechers, Carter's, Petsmart, LaZBoy, Chipotle, Chick Fil A, and other retailers. -Quest Diagnostics is planning to open a new facility in the plaza. They will occupy 1,500 square feet next to Joy Bowl. This will be their only location in West Springfield once it opens. -Fresh Taste is coming soon to the plaza. The new restaurant will serve ramen and boba from a 2,110 square foot space next to Nippon Grill. No timeline has been set for their opening. -KPot Korean BBQ & Hot Pot is still planned for the plaza. The restaurant was set to open in 2024, but construction delay and a Stop Work Order delayed the opening. Corporate hopes to open the location this spring, though an exact date is not known. KPot serves all-you-can-eat with more than 50 of the best meats, seafood, vegetables, tofu and noodles. -Boost Mobile is planning a new location in the plaza. They are currently transforming the former GameStop space into their new location. Look for them to open soon! The plaza has seen an increase in tenants in the past years including the opening of Massachusetts first Wood & Tap and Boot Barn locations. The plaza will now have a single 4,000 square foot vacancy. Creamy Cones has announced plans for a new location in Chicopee! This will be the second location for the ice cream shop! The new shop will be located 1410 Memorial Drive in Chicopee, next door to the new Primo Hoagies.
The ice cream shop opened the first location in April 2024 at 751B Union Street in West Springfield, MA. They serves soft serve, scoops, sundaes, shakes, flurries, and take home treats. They also have an ice cream truck to rent for parties. The owner's announcement reads: "You asked, and we listened! Forever 21 has filed for bankruptcy protection, its second time in 6 years. The fast fashion retailer will begin winding down operations including the closure of all their retail locations; including all 10 stores in Massachusetts.
F21 OpCo, the operating company for the brand, has 350 locations across the United States; store closing sales are expected to begin at all locations in the coming days. The brand is still seeking a buyer for some or all of its assets including the store's profitable leases. The company has faced fierce competition from online retailers like Shein and Temu in the fast fashion world.
