The new Entertainment Luxury Cinemas in Sturbridge will open their doors tomorrow, 02/28!

The movie theater is located at The Center at Hobbs Brook, 100 Charlton Road, in Sturbridge. The theater replaces Cinemagic that closed in 2021 when the theater chain closed their locations. 

The theater has been completely renovated including new reclining chairs, gourmet food and beverage options, and upscale furnishings! The theater's adult pricing starts at $13.75 for matinees and $15.75 for normal tickets. The theater has separate pricing for seniors and children.

Outback Steakhouse has closed their doors in Leominster, Mass!

The steakhouse was located at Twin City Plaza, 865 Merriam Avenue, for over 24 years. The restaurant closed their doors permanently last Sunday. Employees were given the opportunity to transfer to other locations or were given a severance package.

The restaurant is part of a chain of over 1,000 steakhouse across 23 different countries. Outback is owned by Bloomin' Brands, owner of Carrabba's Italian Frill, Bonefish Grill, and Fleming's Steakhouse. 

Outback has 8 other Massachusetts location in Auburn, Bellingham, Lowell, Peabody, Randolph, Seekonk, Somerville, and West Springfield. 

Sturbridge Coffee House will be expanding to a second location inside the Noble Gas Station in Sturbridge!

Mini Sturbridge Coffee House is coming soon to 195 Charlton Road in Sturbridge, inside the Noble Gas Station. The coffee shop will feature an indoor counter as well as a drive thru! The coffee shop replaces Fuel America that recently closed inside the gas station. 

The new location is expected to open in March and will be open daily from 6am-3pm. They plan to extend the hours until 6pm once they are open and fully staffed. 

The restaurant will feature bagels, muffin tops, egg bites, acai bowls, grab-and-go and more. They will also be serving the same handcrafted drink menu as their main location!

Sturbridge Coffee House has an existing location at 407 Main Street in Sturbridge. The coffee shop serves coffee, lattes, smoothies, teas, breakfast foods, lunch, and much more. On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina has closed their final Massachusetts location in Woburn, just days after closing their West Springfield location 

The restaurant was located at 19 Commerce Way in Woburn, MA. The restaurant has been at this location for many years. An exact reason for the closure was not immediately available. The restaurant sold Tex-Mex including tacos, burritos, chimichangas, fajitas, enchiladas, margaritas, and much more.  

The chain has closed a number of their locations in the last few weeks including their locations in Orange Connecticut, Holland Michigan, West Springfield Mass, and others. The chain has a single Connecticut location in Rocky Hill; and a single Rhode Island location in Warwick.

Delaney's Market will host their grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration tomorrow, 02/25 at 11am!

The newest location of the market will be at 334 Park Street in West Springfield. The location will open tomorrow, February 25th. The market features ready-made lunches and dinner meals; along side appetizers and desserts! The menu also caters to vegan and gluten-free needs!

This is the fifth location for the market, they have other locations in South Hadley, Longmeadow, Westfield, and Wilbraham. The markets are open Monday - Friday: 11am - 7:30pm, Saturday: 10am - 6:30pm, and Sunday: 12pm - 5pm.

Fancy Bagels is coming soon to Agawam!

The new bagels shop is coming soon to the Southgate Shopping Plaza at 838 Suffield Street in Agawam! The eatery will be located next door to Geissler's, the former Agawam Medical Supply space. 

The bagel shop plans to open in early summer of this year! The menu will include dozens of varieties of bagels, breakfast sandwiches, lox, lunch sandwiches, soups, and much more. Drinks include coffee, teas, frozen coffees, hot chocolate, soda, juices, and others. The shop also carries gluten free bread and bagels for customers with those restrictions! This will be the second location for the bagel shop, they have an existing location at 587 College Highway in Southwick, Mass. 

A new AYCE (all you can eat) Japanese BBQ and sushi restaurant is coming soon to Holyoke!

Daruma Japanese BBQ & Sushi is coming soon to 241 Whiting Farms Road, the former Paper City Grill/Applebee's Restaurant on the outskirts of the Holyoke Mall! An exact opening date was not immediately available. The restaurant is expected to serve traditional Japanese favorites, sushi, and hibachi entrees. 

Paper City Bar & Grill opened October 2021 and recently closed their doors. Applebees operated at the site from 2016 when the development was built until 2021 when it closed.

The restaurant was located at 33 Border Way in West Springfield, Massachusetts. The restaurant has been at this location for decades. The restaurant recently closed their doors. An exact reason for the closure was not immediately available. 

The restaurant sold Tex-Mex including tacos, burritos, chimichangas, fajitas, enchiladas, margaritas, and much more. The next closest On The Border is now in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. The only other Massachusetts location for the chain is in Woburn. 

Emails to corporate were not returned. Calls to the restaurant itself lead to an automated service and calls to management ring but are never answered.

West Side Creamy Cones has announced plans for a new location in Chicopee! This will be the second location for the ice cream shop!

An exact location for the new ice cream shop was not released. Make sure you follow their social media (tagged above) for an announcement on their future location!

The ice cream shop opened the first location in April 2024 at 751B Union Street in West Springfield, MA. They serves soft serve, scoops, sundaes, shakes, flurries, and take home treats. They also have an ice cream truck to rent for parties.

The owner's announcement reads: "You asked, and we listened! We know many of you have been making the trip for our ice cream, so we’re making it easier—West Side Creamy Cones is opening a second location in Chicopee! No more long drives—just the same creamy, delicious ice cream you love, now closer to home. Stay tuned for opening details, and get ready to celebrate with us soon!"

The leases of 9 Party City stores in Massachusetts were recently put up for auction. Stores in Shrewsbury, Burlington, Attleboro, Bellingham, Chelmsford, Quincy, East Walpole, Millbury, and Seekonk were auctioned to the highest bidder last week according to the court docket. Successful bidders were recently released (but are still subject to court approval), here is who is planned to move in. 

-Dollar Tree has been listed as the successful bidder for the Party City store at 120 Walter J. Hannon Parkway in Quincy. The store occupies 16,412 square feet of space. 

-Dollar Tree has been listed as the successful bidder for the Party City store at 100 Boston Turnpike in Shrewsbury. The store is located at the White City Shopping Center and occupies 10,219 square feet of space. 

-Burlington Crossroads (Landlord) has been listed as the successful bidder for the Party City store at 34 Cambridge Street in Burlington. The store is located at the Burlington Crossroads and occupied 9,914 square feet of space. 

-Dollar Tree has been listed as the successful bidder for the Party City store at 1140 Newport Avenue in Attleboro. The store is located at the RK Bristol Place and occupies 15,000 square feet of space. 

-Dollar Tree has been listed as the successful bidder for the Party City store at 209 Hartford Avenue in Bellingham. The store is located at the Crossroads Shopping Center.

-Dollar Tree has been listed as the successful bidder for the Party City store at 288 Chelmsford Street in Chelmsford. The store is located at the Eastgate Plaza.

-Dollar Tree has been listed as the successful bidder for the Party City store at 30 Providence Highway in East Walpole. The store is located at the Walpole Mall and occupies 11,441 square feet of space. 

-Dollar Tree has been listed as the successful bidder for the Party City store at 70 Worcester Providence Turnpike in  Millbury. The store is located at The Shops at Blackstone. 

-Five Below has been listed as the successful bidder for the Party City store at 231 Highland Avenue in Seekonk. The store is located at King Phillip's Crossings and occupies 12,224 square feet of space. 

Dollar Tree was the biggest winner at the auction, winning nearly 150 locations. Five Below was the second biggest winner at the auction, winning over 40 locations. Other winners including Barnes & Noble, Rack Room Shoes, La Z Boy, Burlington Coat Factory, Books-A-Million, and others. 

Party City's intellectual property and wholesale operations are to be sold to New Amscan, a distributor and manufacturer. New Amscan is the manufacturer of balloons, costumes, and other party products. The sale is still subject to court approval; and a back-up bid from Michaels was received.
