Geissler's Supermarket is closing their South Windsor location after 37 years of business. The store's final day of operation will be this coming Thursday (07/17.)
The store is currently having a final sale, with all products at 20% off! Excludes alcohol and tobacco products due to state laws on pricing. Some exceptions may apply. The store is clearing out fast. The bakery department has already closed and it appears the meat and deli departments will be closing up shop soon if they haven't already. There is also no more fresh produce, with the area cordoned off. Stop in and save on everyday items! The store has been a fixture of Sullivan Avenue for 37 years. Before Geissler's Supermarket, the site was home to Armata's Market. The closure leaves South Windsor without a family/locally owned grocery store. The town now has Stop & Shop, Aldi, and Whole Foods Market as the leading grocery stores. Geissler's will still have area locations in Windsor, East Windsor, Simsbury (as Fitzgerald's Foods), Bloomfield, Somers, Granby, and Agawam MA. These stores will remain open.
