Geissler's Supermarket will be closing their grocery store in South Windsor!
The store will permanently close their doors on July 17th according to a Facebook post from the local grocery chain. The store has operated at 965 Sullivan Avenue for 37 years. The grocery store said in their statement: "We're incredibly grateful to our South Windsor customers and team for all the support over the years. It's been our honor to be part of this community. Thank you for shopping local and for allowing us to be part of your lives for the last 37 years. We hope to continue serving you at our other locations." Geissler's Plaza was set to be redeveloped including a large scale renovation of the derelict shopping center and the addition of new apartments. The plans were sidetracked by a dispute with the town over contigency approvals that were ultimately settled in 2024. No word yet on when/if the project might restart.
