Demolition is now underway on the former Webster Bank building in Downtown Manchester! The site will soon be redeveloped into the town's new public library.
The new 70,000 square foot, three-story structure includes plenty of space for Manchester’s collection of books and materials, engaging areas for children of all ages, interactive teen space, makerspace & audio-visual studio, private study, meeting rooms, and a large community meeting space. A opening in the second half of 2026 is expect with this timeline. The future use of Mary Cheney Library has not been officially determined or announced.
