A new development is being proposed for the undeveloped land behind The Plaza at Buckland Hills. The land is located at 22 Wheeler Road in South Windsor.
Downeast LLC is proposing the construction of 210 age-restricted residential condos. Plans include a club house for residents and amenities like a pool and pickleball courts. The developer is currently seeking master plan approval and a zone change for the land, to include a new 10 acre lot slated for future commercial development, with the remainder to be developed into the residential units. A Public Hearing on the application is tentatively set for January 13th, 2026 in front of the South Windsor Planning & Zoning Commission.
