Neil's Donuts will not be coming to the former Rite Aid in Wethersfield, but they have not ruled out a Wethersfield location in the future!
The donut shop submitted preliminary plans in February to potentially open a new location at 657 Silas Deane Highway in Wethersfield, part of the old Rite Aid store. These plans are no longer moving forward. Owner Neil Bukowski confirmed in an email with us that he will not be moving forward with this site; citing expensive traffic studies required to get the drive thru approved. He said he is still looking at other sites including, but not limited to, Wethersfield. Neil's Donuts currently has 2 locations, in Wallingford and Middletown. The shop is known for their award-winning donuts along with coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and much more. Stay tuned for any update regarding a future third location of Neil's Donuts! We need you “Neil’s” out this way. Stores empty and available for rent. Sure there’s a Dunkin there but they need to go! Drive up windows in, but there service is horrible. Along with space in another store for a Chinese old style fast good food take out. Rt. 34 Roosevelt Dr. scenic drive from Rt. 84 to New Haven upcoming business route.
