A zone change for a proposed large scale commercial development in Southington has been rejected.
The Planning & Zoning Commission has voted down a proposed zone change at 682 Curtiss Street & 115 Summit Farms Road, the vote was 6-1. The updated zoning would've change the parcel from Industrial (I-2) to Business (B). Plans submitted with the application showed a preliminary development plans (valued at over $90 million) including a new 171,236 square foot retail store (speculated to be Walmart), a gas station, hotel, and 3 industrial buildings ranging in size from 20,000 up to 283,000 square feet.
