The owner of the Trumbull Mall has defaulted on their loan for the property.
Namdar Realty Group has defaulted on the debt on the Trumbull Mall in Trumbull, CT. The mall owner purchased the property in late 2022; taking on a $152.3 million in debt to buy the property from Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield. The real estate group is working with their lenders to secure an extension on the loan. The town said they "would not be broken-hearted if Namdar were no longer the owner of the mall, we are committed to working with whomever is the owner of the mall." Namdar owns a number of mall in Connecticut including The Shoppes at Buckland Hills in Manchester, purchasing that property earlier this year for $25.8 million. Namdar owns Crystal Mall in Waterford, Enfield Square in Enfield, and Meriden Mall in Meriden.
