Sycamore Drive-In Restaurant plans to reopen under new management according to the owner of the property.
The property owner, Julio Russo, has announced that they are in negotiations with a new operator to run the drive-in under the Sycamore Drive-In name and retain some of the menu including the root beer and Dagwood burger. The interior would receive a refresh over the next few months and reopen under the Sycamore name. The restaurant closed on Christmas Eve after nearly 80 years of operation after the previous operators, the Austins family, stated their lease was not renewed after nearly 3 decades of running the storied eatery. The new owners would pick up the mantle and continue the Sycamore's legacy if negotiations are successful.
