Skechers is coming soon to Stratford!
The shoe retailer will occupy a 9,681 square foot space in the plaza; last occupied by Rainbow. The new store will transform the space into Skechers latest prototype. Skechers currently has 10 locations throughout Connecticut, with the closest location in Trumbull at the Trumbull Mall. This store will be roughly 4 times the size of the Trumbull location, bringing more variety for the customer. The plaza is set to welcome an Aldi grocery store in addition to Skechers. The plaza is currently anchored by LA Fitness and Marshalls. Stay tuned for more information!

Natural Kitchen is coming soon to Stamford!
The eatery is coming soon to 5 Broad Street in Stamford, replacing Row House in the development! The restaurant has 3 locations currently in Waterbury, Milford, and Trumbull; with more locations coming soon in Norwalk and another location to be announced soon! The restaurant serves poke bowls, salads, boba/bubble tea, iced teas, smoothies, waffle ice cream, fruit tea, milkshakes, and much more. Raphaël’s Bakery will be opening their second shop at the new Heights Crossing at 346 Heights Road. The French bakery is owned and operated by Charlotte and Raphaël Dequeker along with their three sons. The bakery offers baked goods, pastries, coffee, fresh breads and sandwiches. The bakery is well known in Greenwich and often has a line of customers outside the doors most days. The bakery will join other new tenants in the development including Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids (a children’s barbershop franchise), Pvolve Fitness (functional fitness studio) and Garden Catering (chicken restaurant.) The grocery store chain will be located at Stratford Square at 411 Barnum Avenue. The store will be located in a portion of the parking lot next to LA Fitness (formerly Esporta Fitness and LA Fitness before that.) The building will occupy land currently being used as a parking lot. The new store will be roughly 20,600 square feet. It will feature the newest prototype Aldi layout; similar to new locations in South Windsor and Plainville. No timeline has been announced for the grocery store's construction and opening has been announced. Stratford Square shopping center is home to Esporta Fitness/LA Fitness, Marshall's, Five Below, and many more. Aldi is expanding their presence in Connecticut including recent openings in Plainville and Monroe; and new locations planned for Stratford and East Windsor! Yard House has permanently closed their only Connecticut location!
Yard House has closed their location at The SoNo Collection after 4 years of business at Connecticut’s newest mall. The tavern opened as the first restaurant on the street level of the mall. “Closing this restaurant is a difficult business decision and one that we made carefully and thoughtfully, particularly because it impacts our team members and guests," according to a spokesperson. The menu featured normal tavern fare including burgers, fries, nachos, pizza, steak, and sandwiches. The menu usually feature beer from local CT breweries. No word yet on what might replace Yard House at The Sono Collection in Norwalk. Dave's Hot Chicken will officially open their new Stamford location this Friday, May 9th!
This will be the third location for the Nashville hot chicken chain. The restaurant will be located at 2333 Summer Street in Stamford, part of the Ridgeway Shopping Center. The new restaurant serves Nashville hot chicken sandwiches, normal chicken sandwiches, tenders, bites, shakes, fries, slaw, mac & cheese, slushers of various flavors, and more. They sells a 'Hot Box Roulette' featuring a box of 10 chicken sliders with 4 mild, 5 medium, and 1 reaper (their hottest flavor.) Check them out this Friday! They are expected to be open daily from 11am to 11pm. Plato's Closet is now buying for their new store in Norwalk! The new store is located at 120 New Canaan Road in Norwalk, in Tower Plaza. The clothing store buy and sells gently used clothing.

-Rollerland, an indoor roller rink is coming soon to level 5 of the mall! The new business will be Fairfield County's premier roller skating venue when they open this summer! Rollerland joins the countless other entertainment tenants in the mall including New York Comedy Club, Angel Land, Kiddo Land, and Soccer Fun Zone. The mall is also in negotiation to bring mini golf, zip lines, and bouce houses to the center. -Fries Guys is coming soon to the mall's food court. The new restaurant is expected to serve various styles of french fries with fun and delicious toppings. -Koluxe Jewelry is coming soon to the mall's fifth level. The jewelry store sells laminated gold and silver jewlery. They currently have a location at The SoNo Collection in Norwalk. -Finally, Paradise Spa will be opening on the mall's fifth level. The pizza shop has opened their new Shelton location at 320 Howe Avenue; the former Steady Habits Tasting Lounge. Square Peg opened their doors to the community today, April 28th. The restaurant sells wood-fired Neo-Neopolitan style pizzas, Detroit-style pizza, salads, sandwiches, and much more. They have not added the Shelton menu to their website yet, but check out Plainville's menu here: https://www.squarepegpizzeria.com/menu-plainville This will be Square Peg's 7th location behind their existing eateries in Glastonbury, Storrs, Vernon, Plainville, Berlin, and Delray Beach Florida. Square Peg will also open new locations in Preston and Columbia, CT later this year. The brand new Barnes & Noble store at High Ridge Center will open on May 14th!
The store will be located at 1145 High Ridge Road, the former DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse space. The new store will feature 2 floors of books, a cafe area, an expanded vinyl section, and kid's toys & games. Take a look at the sneak peek images from inside! The grand opening will feature meet & greets with authors including Greg Wands (author of Trust Issue), Tessa Wegert (author of Devils at the Door), and others to be announced soon! This will be Stamford's second Barnes & Noble; the existing store at Stamford Town Center will remain open. The store will feature B&N's newest prototype including wood finishes, carpet, and more luxorious materials. Barnes & Noble will open at least two more stores this year including Southbury (expected to open on June 4th) and Cheshire (expected to open this fall.) These new locations join Barnes & Noble's other 13 stores in Connecticut. |
