Union Street Tavern has closed their Windsor tavern. The tavern was located at 20 Union Street in Windsor; operating there for 19 years.
The tavern announced on April 11th the sale of the business with plans to close on 04/18. The restaurant has closed, but will reopen under new ownership with an updated interior and menu. The owners of the new restaurant will honor unredeemed Union Street Tavern gift cards. The new owners of the business is Richard Schuler and Suzanne Milardo according to business records filed in March. Richard Schuler is a seasoned restaurateur, owning Tunxis Grill and Three Figs Restaurant. The owners said in a statement: "When we started the adventure known as the Union Street Tavern in February 2006, we had no idea we would still be at it 19 years later, but we are…. due to the tremendous support of the community and the fun of making the Tavern a special meeting place in Windsor. But now it's time to pass the torch! The Tavern has been sold, and our last day of business is Friday, April 18. The new owner will be making some updates to the restaurant so it will be closed for a few months. We expect the next edition of 20 Union Street will also be a special place that will earn your support."
