Station 1633 Table & Tavern is NOW OPEN in Windsor!

The new restaurant is located at 20 Union Street in Downtown Windsor; the former Union Street Tavern. The new firehouse themed restaurant is located in a historic fire station, originally built in 1927.

The menu features tavern cuisine including their 'First Alarm Starters' including wings, calamari, guac & chips, charcuterie boards, and more. You'll also find salads, Fish & Chips, a variety of steaks, pastas, burgers, wraps, sandwiches, tacos, and much more on their menu. No surprise with the ambiance, not much of a change from the previous owners of Union St. Tavern. The service was fine, however they did mess up my beer order. I ordered a Guinness 00 and received a regular Guinness. Good thing I'm not an alcoholic or this could have really gone bad for me. I guess my biggest disappointment was with menu, it was ugly - from aesthetic to content, Very boring. Hey, PLEASE bring the French dip sandwich to the menu, it's a classic. How about a nice stew? I ordered the station burger, came undercooked and to my disappointment had mayo on it. My bad, need to read the details. My wife and I had high hopes as we live in the center and thought this would be great, particularly because the food at tunxis grill ( same owner?) Is great. I guess instead of walking to the restaurant will still need to drive somewhere. I'm no expert but I have lived in the center for 50+ years, if this place doesn't provide something unique, I'll give them a year at best. We already have a neighborhood bar, the Tabasco shed, they serve lousy food to, but the drinks are less expensive.
