Manchester's Silk City Coffee is expanding with a second location in Willimantic! After 9 years of business, Grounded Coffee Company in Willimantic is becoming Silk City Coffee! The announcement was made this morning on Silk City's social media pages. Grounded Coffee Company is located at 869 Main Street in Willimantc. The coffee shop will be transformed into the second location of Manchester's Silk City Coffee this fall! Silk City Coffee opened their doors at 763 Main Street in Manchester in October of 2016. They have since grown their operations to include roasting their own coffee beans and a great food menu. Silk City Coffee is owned by two local families, the Gerhard and the May families. The group is dedicated to provided the community a place to gather for delicious coffee and food. The coffee shop was listed as one of the top 100 coffee shops in the world earlier this year alongside Hartford's Story and Soil Coffee. Congratulations to all involved! Excited to stop by the new location this fall!
