Big Y World Class Market plans to open their new Westport grocery store on October 24th!
The new store will open at 1076 Post Road East in Westport, CT; a former Barnes & Noble store. The space was originally planned to house an Amazon Fresh grocery store. The Amazon Fresh store was cancelled when the retailer slowed their expansion of the brand. The new store will be smaller than typical Big Y stores. The new store has a 40,000 square foot space; while normal stores are 55-60,000 square feet. The new store will have the normal departments like meat, deli, bakery, sandwich shop, pizza shop, cafe, seafood, and more. This is the 3rd new Big Y store to open in Connecticut this year; new stores opened in Brookfield and Middletown earlier this year. This is the chain's 77th store in total.
