The Place 2 Be in West Hartford is temporarily closed according to signs posted on the windows by the Department of Revenue Services. According to the sign, the sale & use tax permits have been suspended as of 12:30 on 08/05 by the Department of Revenue Services. No timeline has been announced for their potential reopening. The restaurant has been embroiled in eviction proceedings with Blue Back Square since December 2024 after the restaurant allegedly fell behind on rent payments. A stipulated agreement to the lawsuit was filed on 08/04. According to the agreement, The Place 2 Be will vacate the space on March 31st, 2026; they must continue making rent payments through this date. The Place 2 Be has 2 locations of their flagship brand; West Hartford & Downtown Hartford. The restaurant previously operated locations in New Haven & Springfield MA. The New Haven location appears to have closed recently, we are working to confirm the closure; the business marked as permanently closed on Google. Calls to the restaurant were not answer. The Springfield eatery was located at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame before being evicted in late 2024. A Franklin Avenue location of TP2B has been converted to The Bakery by TP2B, with an elevated menu of freshly baked items.
