The restaurant is a new concept from Ashley Flagg, former Executive Chef at the Millwright's in Simsbury. The Laurel replaces the pug-themed Corner Pug space at 1046 New Britain Avenue in the Elmwood section of West Hartford. The Laurel describes itself as "An exploration of global cuisines, utilizing locally sourced ingredients. Our food and bevergae menus are forever evolving, always unique, and designed to be shared." The menu doesn't have a specific nationality; its broken up into 4 sections including Chilled, Vegetable, Seafood, and Meat. The menu has vegetarian and vegan options.
