Rosemary's Bakery will remain open at 729 Thomaston Road in Watertown! The bakery has reversed course on their decision to close their doors, an announcement they made on May 21st.
The bakery will remain open after all; while the landlord works to find a new coffee shop to replace the recently closed CaraBean. Owner Rick Collier said in a comment "Rosemary’s Bakery will remain open. We are working with the landlord who really wants us to stay. Both my wife and myself are semi-retired and enjoy being open just three days a week. Taking over the whole area would have turned it into more than a full time commitment. We are working with the landlord in finding another coffee shop to take their place. We are hopeful we have found one and is going in the right direction! We will be better than ever! Sorry for the disruption but was out of our control. But we would also like to give a big THANK YOU for all the support that Watertown and the surrounding communities have given us." The bakery opened their doors in October 2024 at 720 Thomaston Road in Watertown, next door to CaraBean. The bakery is the re-birth of the original Rosemary Bakery that closed back in 1997. The bakery originally opened in 1946 by John Bacco; being purchased by Rick Collier in 1983. Mr.Collier closed the bakery in 1997 and began teaching Culinary Arts. Rick Collier reopened the bakery in October 2024 to stay busy in retirement.
