Let’s take a look at the new home of Avery's Soda in New Britain!
Avery’s Soda was recently purchased by Patrick Moore, the owner of Hilltop Apiaries in Simsbury. The soda shop relocated their retail store from its longtime home on Corbin Avenue to 1 Hartford Square in New Britain. Same great product you love — just in a new location! The new store is open for sales of all sizes! From a single bottle to a few cases; the store is open. Find the store at 1 Hartford Square in New Britain, door 19B. Make sure you use the West Gate entrance and follow the road until you see the Avery’s sign! The store sells all your favorite flavors including (but not limited too) strawberry, orange, raspberry, dark cherry, root beer, cream soda, birch beer, cola, kiwi, lemon-lime, diet, blue raspberry, grape, orange & cranberry, and many more. The store sells many different seltzers, their ‘Totally Gross’ brand of soda, and honey from Hilltop. I got the opportunity to meet former longtime owner Rob Metz on my visit this afternoon. Rob is still working at Avery, even manning the register at the store. Rob said he is still working on plans for the old barn that used to house Avery at 520 Corbin Avenue. Some ideas have been floated including a soda museum; but nothing has been set in stone. He will continue to brainstorm ideas to honor the legacy of the building in an economically feasible way. The store is open: Tuesday through Friday 9am-5pm Saturday 9am-3pm Closed Sunday & Monday
