A Hartford restaurant tradition is returning, a little less than a year after closing their doors for a development. J Restaurant Bar will be returning to the Capital City, opening their doors at the Colt Building in Hartford! Coming soon to the Colt building is J Bar at Colt (bar and restaurant) and J Under The Dome (events, catering, weddings.) The restaurant will be located at 140 Huyshope Avenue in Hartford. The restaurant has purchased the Thomas Hooker Brewery at Colt and Hooker Live event space from the Thomas Hooker Brewery company! Thomas Hooker said this statement with their patrons: "We want to share an important update with our guests and supporters: the Thomas Hooker Brewery at Colt and Hooker Live in Hartford have officially been sold to J Restaurant, a long-time partner we’ve proudly worked with over the years. J Restaurant will be taking over operations and is committed to delivering the same exceptional service you’ve come to expect. We’re confident they will continue to create memorable experiences in this iconic space. If you have tickets to an upcoming event at our Live location, your event will still take place as scheduled, all tickets will be honored. We’re proud of everything we accomplished at Colt and are grateful for your support. Thank you for being a part of our Hartford story — and stay tuned for what’s ahead in Bloomfield." J Restaurant & Bar closed their doors last summer after over 54 years of serving Hartford. The restaurant was located at 297 Washington Street in Hartford. The site is currently under redevelopment into a new parking garage with retail space for the Connecticut Children's Medical Center. No opening timeline was immediately available.
