A few new projects are planned for Town of Hamden, Connecticut!
-A new specialty grocery store is planned for the former LA Fitness at 46 Skiff Street. Building permits have been filed to convert the existing building into a new specialty grocery store. The identity of the grocer has not been announced. -Walmart will be expanding their Hamden store into a supercenter! The chain plans to take over the former Bob's Stores space in the plaza. The store would be transformed into a super center with a full-service grocery department. Plans are waiting for final approval by the Department of Transportation. -Five Below is coming soon to Hamden. The discount store will occupy the former Party City store at Hamden Plaza. The store is expected to open later this year. No timeline has been announced for their opening. -Robeks, a chain of smoothie shops in coming soon to Hamden Plaza! The shop is expected to occupy the space next to Ashley's in the plaza. No timeline has been announced for their opening. -A new coffee shop is planned for 3360 Whitney Avenue. The new building would contain space for 2 tenants, with one of them possibly being Dunkin. Plans are still subject to PZC approval. -Dave's Hot Chicken is coming soon to 2165 Dixwell Avenue, the former DiBella's Sub space. Plans for the space were recently submitted on May 8th for building permit, with construction planned to begin once permits are issued. Stay tuned! -Another coffee shop is planned for 1920 Dixwell Avenue. Under the application, a new drive-thru coffee shop would be added to an existing plaza. The plaza is currently home to SK Supply and Edible Arrangements. Plans are still subject to PZC approval.
