We have been able to idenitfy the mystery grocery store planned for Hamden as Trader Joe's!
Drawings uploaded to the town's building permit portal are labeled 'TJ Hamden' showing the new improvements for the new grocery store! We have also talked with commercial brokers in the area who have confirmed Trader Joe's is planned for Hamden. The new store will occupy 12,500 square feet of space on the right side of the former LA Fitness at 46 Skiff Street in Hamden. The size of the space matches Trader Joe’s latest prototype, including the new store coming to Shelton. Developer Benderson, behind the plans for the Hamden site, is known for the connection to TJ’s. The developer has proposed similar grocery stores in other areas of the country.
