Trader Joe’s has filed for building permits for their new Hamden store!
Building permits for the tenant fitout for Trader Joe’s have been filed, permits were filed by Cole Jeffery at Permit Advisors! The documents list Trader Joe's as the new tenant. The grocery store will be located at 46 Skiff Street in Hamden, a portion of the former LA Fitness. We were the first to report on the identity of the mystery grocery back in June. They will occupy 12,500 square feet of space in the building with major storefront renovation. The build-out will cost $500,000 according to the application. It was recently uncovered that the property has a deed restriction by Stop & Shop prevent another grocery store. A settlement/release could be needed for Trader Joe's to move in, its unclear if any settlement/release has been given at the time of writing. Stay tuned for an opening timeline!
