Demolition work is planned to begin soon at Enfield Square Mall. A demo permit application has already been submitted for approval by a demo company. Demo work is estimated to cost over $3 million.
Plans for existing tenants are starting to take shape at Enfield Square Mall. The mall is planned to close in the coming months to make way for a new mixed-use development. -Haven Games and Hobbies has announced their pending closure. The game store will permanently close their doors, the final major release for the store will be April 4th-6th. -New Life Church is searching for a new home in the area. As of Tuesday 03/19 they are still looking. -Moz Pizza and Grinders (formerly LA Subs) will be opening a new location in Meriden while they look for a new Enfield location. Stay tuned for more information on their new Meriden location. -Second Floor Games is currently looking for a new home. They are looking in the Enfield area for a new space since they have a large following in the area. -Da Money Pit will be relocated to West Springfield. The clothing and sneaker store is moving to 2011 Riverdale Street. -Kebab House / Mozaic Cafe is looking for a new location in Enfield. The restaurants are looking for a new location in the area after being offered space in the mall owner’s other properties. -Party City has permanently closed their store at the mall. This was unrelated to the redevelopment, the entire chain was liquidated. -Furnari Jewelers has not officially announced their plans, though they are teasing a big announcement on their social media! Stay tuned. -Dionysus Theatre Company is looking for a new home, from Enfield to Vernon. The black-box theater moved into the mall last year. Target will remain open throughout construction. They are separately owned from the mall and will not be affected. We reached out to Wukong Tea and Integrity Martial Arts about their future plans. We have not heard back, but will update with their plans if/when they do. A number of businesses have already left the mall for new locations including Bath & Body Works, SSUP Photos, Galaxy Pops, and others.
