By Jean-Luc Dube After 268 years, the Norton Brothers Fruit Farm in Cheshire has closed their doors.
The fruit farm was located at 466 Academy Road in Cheshire. The farm was founded in 1767 and run by the same family ever since. The farm specialized in fresh produce including fruits and veggie, with pick-your-own apples, hayridesm and Christmas trees during the winter time. An announcement on the farm's website reads "The Farm & Farm Stand are Permanently Closed as of May 2025." A shocking development for the farm. In December 2024, the farm thanked patrons for their support and said they'd see us in June. It is unclear what the future plans are for the farm or the land.

Such a sad development for the farm and our town. We loved getting apples and other fruits there, as well as donuts, chicken pies and our Christmas tree. The people there were always nice, and I always bought more than I'd expected, with no regrets.
