Great Falls Brewing Company to close in North Canaan

Great Falls Brewing Company will be closing its North Canaan, CT brewery permanently at the end of the year. The brewery is located at 75 Main Street.

The brewery will close permanently on New Years Eve (12/31) with one final farewell 80s party. The brewery will be celebrating their 6th anniversary this Saturday, 12/14. Mug Club Members will be having their own farewell party on 12/20 at 6pm.

The brewery is celebrated for their mission to do good for the community. With the tagline 'Community, Beer. Life.', the brewery donated over $30,000 to local community non-profits.

The brewery said in their closing announcement:
"Great Falls Brewing Company opened in 2018 to a wonderful reception filled with joy, promise, and great beer! Our company mission statement was simple, "Make Great Beer!".

We think we accomplished that goal.

We also had a tagline that guided who we were as a company, and that is "Community. Beer. Life." We donated over $30,000 to many of our local community non-profits. We contributed to our local daycares, our schools, our social services, we helped a local runner to achieve her fund-raising goal so she could run the Boston marathon, we helped another local student fly to England to attend a soccer camp with Arsenal football, and so many other wonderful stories that we have been very proud to be a part of.

As with so many good stories, the Great Falls Brewing Company story is coming to an end. We had a damn good run. We enjoyed the many times we were together with all of you whether at a festival, in the brewery making beer, at your establishment, or just chatting late into the night at the taproom.

To all our staff from every era of the company. We only have positive things to say about the people who have worked for Great Falls. They all gave it their all, and we’re proud to say that they were always more than employees, they were family. A special shout out thanks to a couple of our OG staff Matt, Erin, Caroline, and Jay. To Jonas, Mel, and Steph for those middle COVID years, we gutted out some tough times. With Lime Rock Park, we put on a killer beer festival. Guys, Thank you! And to all our current staff Melissa (off to Kinsmen), Jon (the old man of the crew), Byron, Matt, Kiera, Kara, Amie, and Alec thank you for being the best taproom crew around. We certainly couldn't have made it without you.

We will remain open till December 31st. If you planned a party or get-togethers, we’re still here for you. Over the holidays come grab that last case of Lazy, you have three weeks, and then it will be all gone.
