The next meeting will take place sometime in February or early March, at which time more of a conceptual plan will be shared with further public input. Visit the website for the Master Plan to stay informed of the upcoming meetings and popup events as they become available at www.newingtontowncenter.com and we will let you know of these dates. The Newington Economic Development Commission successfully kicked off their very first Newington Passport contest during the holiday season. Several local businesses participated, where residents had to visit businesses and get their “passport” stamped. Prize winners were selected at the annual Night of Lights on December 6 and The Newington Scoop helped in announcing them. The commission is looking for suggestions for the 2025 holiday season and have already considered improvements to the guidelines for the process. We held our very own giveaway, the 2nd annual Small Business Scoop giveaway. An impressive lineup of local businesses was generous in offering some great prizes in time for the holiday season. I’d like to thank The Flash Lady Photography for sponsoring the giveaway once again, as well as the businesses that participated: Giovanni's Bakery and Pastry Shop, Blaze Pickle, Artisianna - Olive Oils and Balsamics, Market Square Music Academy, Revolution Sports Club, Karma's Closet, WhipLash & Spa, Turgeon Jewelers, Kaze-Kai Karate, Evolution Yoga & Wellness Co., The Community Room Cafe, Wagging Tails Pet Resort & Spaw, Final Cut Sports Barbershop, Paragon Strength & Performance and Seed Central.
