A new food option is coming soon to The Shoppes at Buckland Hills! LiegeandCo will be opening a new leige waffle shop at the mall! The new shop will be located on the first floor in the center court between Macy's and JC Penney, the old Gloria Jean's coffee kiosk. The waffle shop will serve fun and create combinations of the sugar waffles with various toppings! The business started as a catering company for special events, and now is branching into brick & mortar with this location! Here is how they describe themselves: 'We specialize in hand-crafted, authentic Liege and Brussels waffles. Liege waffles are prepared using a dough that is saturated with clusters of beet sugar crystals that caramelize in a heavy-duty waffle iron. Its brioche-like flavor separates it from traditional American waffles, making it a fan favorite from the first bite!' This will be a welcome addition to the area's dining scene after Waffle Cabin, another waffle concept with only chocolate or sugar options, closed earlier this year at Evergreen Walk.
