The former Sears at The Shoppes at Buckland Hills is going up for auction!
The 139,000 square foot former department store has sat vacant since the store closed in 2021. The space is spreadout over 2 floors sat on over 10 acres of land. The space presents an opportunity for re-occupancy by a big box retailer, or a prime site for redevelopment. The bidding for the auction starts on September 9th at 12pm and ends on September 11th with bids starting at $900,000. A second and third round of bidding is planned for late September and early October if a winning bid is not met. The auction will be held on CREXI through broker CBRE. The property is still owned by Sears Corporate through a shell company called TF Manchester. Check out the listing here: https://www.crexi.com/.../connecticut-former-sears-anchor...
