Danny's Little Taste of Texas, a longtime BBQ restaurant in South Windsor, has returned to the Connecticut Buiding at the Big E after the death of the owner last year.
The super-spud baked potato spot has been dubbed Danny's Smoke House. Former employees, in concert with late-owner Dan Bell's family, have brought back the famous baked potatoes that have become a staple of the Big E. The stand has reopened in their usual location, carrying on the legacy. The stand estimates they could sell 50,000 potatoes during the Big E. Baked Potatos are served many different ways, including Danny's way which includes bacon, cheese, with pulled pork or chili. The stand also sells hotdogs, chili cheese dogs, and more. The late-restaurateur operated Danny's Little Taste of Texas in South Windsor for decades. The restaurant was located at 1750 Ellington Road (now home to Gyro Hub.) This location closed in June of 2023 due to the death of the owner; their space at the BIg E sat empty last year, covered by a touching tribute to the owner. Make sure you visit them at this years Big E!
