Some fun and free activities to do around Hartford! I had a chance to check out The Museum of Connecticut History and Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Arch in Hartford, they are open to the public and free for all.
-The Museum of Connecticut History is located at 231 Capitol Avenue, inside the Connecticut Supreme Court building! The museum highlights Connecticut’s history including the original charter, Colt gun collection, CT made products from throughout the years, and much more. The museum is free and is open Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm. -Right around the corner is the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Arch at Bushnell Park. The arch was constructed in 1886, designed by architect George Keller. The arch sits at the end of the bridge that spans the now buried Park River. The arch is open for free tours on Thursdays from 12pm-1:30pm during May-October. The tours are run by volunteers.
