Chipotle Mexican Grill is coming soon to Wilton, CT!

The fast-casual Mexican restaurant will open at 14 Danbury Road in Wilton, inside Gateway Center. Chipotle will replace the former Boston Market in the plaza.

Chipotle will occupy the entire building, and will feature a Chipot-lane, the chain mobile pick up drive thru window, as well as a small outdoor patio. Construction should start soon!

A new Dollar Tree store is coming soon to 25 Main Street in Bristol, the former Walgreens store!

Dollar Tree recently signed the lease for the space, and applied for building permits today, June 4th, for their interior fit out of the space. The estimated cost of the project is $800,000 according the permit filings. The new store will be roughly 15,000 square feet.

The 15,000 square foot building was constructed in 2007 for Walgreens. The store closed in November of 2023 as a cost-cutting measure by the retailer.

This will be Dollar Tree's second Bristol location. They have an existing location at 623 Farmington Avenue, inside Bristol Plaza.

Barista Cafe - Suffield will be opening a second location at the recently closed Baker & The Brew location at 2 North Road in East Windsor (Sofia’s Plaza.)

The coffee shop bought out some of the equipment from the former coffee shop and plans some renovations to the building. The new shop will still utilize the drive thru. The menu will be identical to their Suffield location. The Baker & The Brew staff have been offered jobs at the new location, and most will stay on!

Barista Cafe opened their first location in Suffield in 2022 at 66 North Main Street. The cafe offers coffee, specialty coffees, gelato, sandwiches, and much more! They are a family owned and operated business! 

The new shop plans to open in Mid-July after renovations.

Pickleball Smash-it is coming soon to Tanger Outlets, Foxwoods!

The new 5,600 square foot facility will be located on the main level of the outlet mall at Foxwoods Resort Casino! The facility will be across from Daily Thread's store. The pickleball facility replaces Bass Shoes that closed in 2020.

This is one of 3 Pickleball Smash-it facilities to open across Tanger Outlets portfolio including their outlet malls in Atlantic City and Riverhead, NY! They have an existing location at Samanea Mall in Westbury, NY.

They are expected to open very soon! Keep an eye on Tanger Outlets, Foxwood's social media for an opening date! The facility joins other entertainment options including The Gallery Selfie Museum, Ready Glaze Fire, Smash Avenue, and Spellbound Escape Rooms.

Hartford has a new grocery store! The Grocery on Broad has opened at 563 Broad Street in Hartford! The grocery store is the latest venture from Forge City Works, a social enterprise working to provide opportunities to underserved areas!

The grocery store is open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6pm and Sunday from 10am to 3pm; and will expand the hours in the near future!

The grocery store has the staples including fresh fruit & vegetables, dairy, and meats. The prices will be on a sliding scale based on household income. The discounts can be combined with other subsidies like SNAP.

Forge City Works runs a number of initiatives in Hartford to provide fresh foods, training, career opportunities, and much more. They run Fire by Forge, a restaurant in the Frog Hollow neighborhood. Ulta Beauty has officially signed a lease for a 6,319 square foot store at Killingly Commons in the Dayville section of Killingly, CT!

The cosmetics store will open next door to TJ Maxx and Staples at 581 Hartford Pike! The space was last home to a Hallmark store. The store will be smaller than a typical Ulta store, stores usually range from 9,000-12,000 square feet. This store will be on 6,319 square feet according to the lease plan.

Corporate confirmed plans for the store with The Connecticut Scoop, but couldn’t provide a timeline for its opening. Look for construction to begin soon. It’s unclear how or if this new store will affect their location at Lisbon Landing in nearby Lisbon, CT.
