Welcome to the very first Berlin Business Brief! For those who have followed The Newington Scoop this past year is familiar with what we do. We exist to help raise awareness of the many businesses in town, the hard-working people who run them, and the folks they serve-YOU! As you will see, we are very supportive of our fellow hyper-local news family and cross-promote each other frequently through sharing of their content and we hope they do the same! If we have helped get the word out in any way, we've done our part!
In this edition, you will find an update of previous news within the past month, which was shared on The Newington Scoop, as well as some new items to bring to you. The following businesses have OPENED recently in Berlin: -Parishes The Artisan Bite opened at 156 Webster Square Road in the Stick Village Plaza. See our post from The Newington Scoop here: https://www.facebook.com/thenewingtonscoop/posts/459235236681112 The following businesses are COMING SOON to Berlin: -The Farmer's Cow Calfé & Creamery is coming to Berlin with their second location at 1241 Farmington Avenue! They briefly opened last Monday for ice cream. They also passed out samples at the Memorial Day Parade. The Farmers Cow will keep us informed of the official opening date which will be soon. According to the signage on the new space at 45 Chamberlain Highway (Ferndale Plaza), they will be known as Seed Central Coffee and Eats. We will keep you posted on the opening date! -Halal Munchies is close to finishing their buildout. They will be located at 1943 Berlin Turnpike, with Heritage Wine and Spirits and Elle Nails and Spa. They have three existing locations in Farmington, Plainville and East Hartford. Stay with us for further updates! -Jersey Mike's Subs plans to open at 1041 Farmington Avenue, next to the new Starbucks! Keep it with The Berlin Scoop for more updates on their opening! -While driving down the Berlin Turnpike, I noticed a new sign up for Fancy Sushi 224 Berlin Turnpike. They are not open yet, but they have a website active with an online ordering feature which says “Pick Up Is Not Available Right Now”. We will keep an eye on their opening! Visit their website to look at the menu: https://www.fancysushiberlin.com/ -Cutting Edge CT plans to move from their current location at 146 Mill Street to 945 Farmington Avenue! The popular shop that specializes in bikes, snowboards, skateboards and related apparel and accessories has called Berlin their home since 1987! -Zack's Burgers & Shakes is relocating from 520 High Road (Ferndale Plaza) to 797 Farmington Avenue, which was most recently Cugino’s Restaurant. Zack’s is currently closed during the transition. -The new gas station/convenience store in front of the Riverwalk Berlin development is progressing. The gas station is most likely to be Noble (however that is subject to change). Cutting Edge CT will be opening in their new location on June 15th! They will be open from 10am-5pm.
The bike, snowboard and skate shop will be relocating from their current location at 146 Mill Street to the new location at 945 Farmington Avenue. The former Bungalow on the Ave store. The grand opening will have raffles and more! Make sure you follow their social media for more information! Jersey Mike's is coming soon to Kensington!
Jersey Mike's Subs will occupy the vacant space next door to Starbucks at 1041B Farmington Avenue! The location is listed as coming soon on their website. The sandwich shop is rapidly expanding across Connecticut with 9 locations coming soon. The chain currently has 37 locations in Connecticut, with new locations planned for Avon, Killingly, Colchester, Plainville, Plainfield, Madison, North Haven, West Hartford, and now Kensington! The building has been extensively renovated for the coffee shop to add a drive thru and modernize the entire building. |
