Zack's Burgers & Shakes is NOW OPEN in their new relocated space at 797 Farmington Avenue!
Zack's has been a popular burger spot in town; originally located at 520 High Road. They offer several burger options, as well as wraps, soups, salads and milkshakes! Their new space was previously home to other restaurants including Cugino's and Even Stephens. Check them out in their new location! Let us know what you ordered (or want to) in the comments!

The Farmer's Cow Calfé & Creamery is NOW OPEN in Berlin!
The new restaurant, located at 1241 Farmington Avenue in the former Arby's, offers soups, sandwiches, salads, ice cream and more! Ingredients will be made with their famous brand of local products which have been available in grocery stores for over 20 years! We will update this post when we know of an official opening/ribbon cutting event in the future. Until then, make sure to check them out! We are saddened to report that The Encore Bar and Grill has closed their doors.
The restaurant opened on March 27 and featured several different menu options along with a full bar and live entertainment. The Berlin Scoop reached out to the owner directly, who confirmed the closure. A note on the door indicated the business was closed. All social media platforms are also no longer available. T-swirl Crêpe is coming soon to Berlin at 224 Berlin Turnpike!
T-Swirl will be filling the vacant space next to the new Fancy Sushi, the former Pokemoto, which closed several months ago. There is a "Coming Soon" banner on the front of the space. The menu features crepe several ways, with fillings that include everything from fruits, meats, eggs and more! The new location will be run by Lingyan Ye and Ling Lin. Ling Lin is also listed as the franchisee for their Middletown location. The company also has other locations in New Haven and Fairfield. They had a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting this past Thursday (6/13) with the Town of Berlin!
Art Studio of Connecticut is a paint and sip studio! Owner Julie Scalora holds classes Wednesday-Saturday nights. The studio also is available for private events, birthday parties and more! You can even bring in your own Beer, Wine (no hard alcohol) and food. Kids classes and field trips are also offered! Stop by and check them out at the new studio. In a Facebook post, owner Jay Chen described items the new restaurant serves up as "delectable sushi rolls, sashimi and other traditional Japanese dishes, all crafted with love and care by our expert chefs". The newly renovated space accommodates indoor dining and also an outdoor patio! Take out is also available. Cutting Edge has been a mainstay in town since 1987. They were most recently at 146 Mill Street and took advantage of a prime opportunity to move to a larger, central space which previously was home to Bungalow on the Ave. The store specializes in sports equipment and accessories including bikes, skateboards, snowboards and much more. The popular gaming and hobby shop is opening a second location in Berlin at 848 Farmington Avenue!
Their original location at 220 North Colony Road in Wallingford is a gaming and game store that offers tabletop games, comic books, trading cards, hobby paints and more! The proprietor, a Berlin resident and US Army veteran, wanted to bring the shop to their hometown, believing there was a need for a destination shop of its kind. The Berlin location will feature a wider selection of cards and games that the Wallingford location does not stock. They will be having a soft opening in early July. An official Grand Opening celebration is planned for July 26 with food trucks and local vendors. Adam Rivers from KISS 95.7 will be there as well! More info on the opening to follow!
